Description: Document of a letter from Nancy M, McClellan to Karen regarding the selection of the Orange Jackets. McClellan thanks Karen for her assistance for recruiting qualified girls to be considered as a member of the Orange Jackets. She gives Karen criteria for choosing more girls to recommend and requests that she keeps the recommendations confidential.

[U.S. Army wool jacket, World War I]

Description: Photographs of a U.S. Army wool jacket from World War I, held by UNT Special Collections. The first image is a closeup of the collar of the brown jacket, two buttons on each side of the collar, one of the with the words "U.S. 36." Image 2, front of the light brown jacket, a breast pocket on each side and four buttons going down the middle. There are also two pockets on each side of the bottom. Image 3, back of light brown jacket, two buttons and straps on each shoulder.

Description: Jacket of black polyester satin printed with green "Riddler" question marks of various sizes. The hip-length jacket is single breasted with three oval gray metal (pewter?) "Batman" symbol buttons, and notched collar. Two front patch pockets. Long sleeves. Lined in green polyester satin with large black question mark on center back.

Jacket

Description: Chinese jacket of red damask silk with multicolored embroidery. Almost knee-length, with long sleeves. Floral damask pattern, embroidery of flowers, moths(?), foliage, and other symbols. Angled center front opening bordered with blue, fastened with carved/chased gold sphere buttons and loops. Around opening, hem, collar, and cuffs is embroidered band in blues and white scrolls, with outer border of gold and black. Lined in pink silk. No labels.

Description: Chinese ensemble of blue silk with multi-colored embroidery. A) Jacket/Bodice. Knee-length, A-line, standing collar, long sleeves with white cuffs embroidered with scenes of Chinese people in various situations. Center front opening with black frogs fastened with spherical gold buttons. Wide band at collar and part of front opening, and hem with embroidery of figures on brown ground. Field of jacket with large multi-colored embroidered flowers and butterflies. B) Pants. Matching. Drawstring waist. Full-length, with matching embroidery, but only on lower legs. Cuffs with wide band of white embroidered with foliage and moths.

Description: Box style jacket of black and blue/gray striped cotton gingham. Fabric has seersucker texture due to stitching along vertical black stripes throughout double thick garment. Single breasted; hip length. Long set-in sleeves; turndown collar. Button closure of six oval shaped shank button; barred buttonholes. Vertical welt pockets at sides are outlined on the interior of the jacket in floral ribbon border. Shoulder pads. Designer's label at center back neckline: "Geof/frey / Beene" Retailer's label at left side opening: "Neiman Marcus"

Coyote jacket

Description: Bomber style jacket of coyote fur trimmed gray leather. Convertible collar. Center front opening of gray leather with closure of three silver turn locks and two additional turn locks on 3" leather waistband. Long sleeves with upper panel of fur and lower panel of gray leather; 3-1/2” leather cuffs have matching turn lock closure. Lined in beige, brown and copper plaid acetate.

Description: Coat for evening of black cut velvet. Short length with round neck; long sleeves; single-breasted with six black, many faceted buttons. Black silk lining with 6\" wide piece from left side seam to right side seam to make coat fit in front and flare in back. Designer's label at center back neckline: "Balenciaga / 10, Avenue George V. Paris"

Jacket

Description: Man's jacket in Japanese ghee style. Black basket weave double-faced fabric of heavy, 100% cotton. Exterior with red and white accent stripes on shoulders running down the 3/4 length sleeves, and horizontally around lower part of coat. On collar, running down front are white Kanji characters. Center front opening with no fasteners. On back is single large Kanji character in white on red circle with white border. Design on inside is printed into fabric, of ladder, fire with smoke, and water running down. Discharge printed, drawing color out, then printed over with red. Warp and weft are two distinct fibers, one allows dye to come out, other does not. Retailer's label inside: "Kimono Shop / Honolulu / Made in Japan" Content/size label inside: "100% Cotton / Made in Japan / Small"
