Pathways: seven sonic variations

Description: Recording of Reynold Weidenaar's "Pathways: Seven Sonic Variations." The piece sonsists entirely of processed tape-shoe sounds, based on a one minute and ten second long step pattern. This was performed and recorded in stereo with pressure-zone microphones. Each variation is a different tap performance and sonic interpretation of the original score.

Songes drôlatiques

Description: Recording of Michel Redolfi's Songes drôlatiques. Audio and visual suite inspired by the "Drolatic Dreams" of Rabelais' Pantagruel. The sound production calls for two elements: the voice of Michael Lonsdale performing in unprecedented registers and bodily sounds produced by the dancers. Rain Stick

Description: Rain Stick, a piece for live-electronic keyboard, tape, and dance, uses light sensitive continuous controllers in the performance of the live electronic parts of this piece. Panta rhei

Description: Recording of Jürgen Bräuninger's Panta Rhei. This piece is connected for one female dancer who is connected to a synthesizer via a cable ("Umbilical cord"). "Panta Rhei" ("everything flows") refers to the Greek myth of the Three Fates (Clotho, Lachesis and Atropos). The cable represents the string of life which the performer can not escape. This dependency forces her to react to the sound events with reach her through the cable.
