Theater of Marcellus

Description: General view from NE (1998) of the Theater of Marcellus. Begun by Julius Caesar, dedicated to Marcus Claudius Marcellus, his nephew and son-in-law. Converted to a fortress-palace in the Middle Ages, it was uncovered in 1926-32. From the Roman Imperial Period.
