Solidification of Aluminum alloys is modeled on uneven surfaces characterized by sinusoidal curves. Wavelengths and amplitudes of these surfaces are varied to study the effect of changing surface topography on fluid flow, macrosegregation and inverse segregation in the solidifying alloy.
