The Dimensions and Number of Turns for the Tracker Solenoids As-Built compared to the Original Magnet Design

Description: The two tracker solenoids for MICE [1]-[3] as-built are different from the original design proposed by Wang NMR [4]. The Wang NMR design is in turn different from the magnet design proposed in the original MICE tracker magnet specification [5]. Radio frequency and microwave plasma for optical thin film deposition

Description: For the next generation of fusion lasers reflecting mirrors with laser damage thresholds of at least 40 J/cm{sup 2} for 10 ns laser pulses at 1.064 {mu}m are needed. Evaluation of Advanced Materials: Final Report

Description: Cemented tungsten carbides with a binder level in the range of 5 to 6 percent exhibited the best resistance to erosion for this class of materials. Other practical cermet meterials were diamond - Si/SiC, Al/sub 2/O/sub 3/-B/sub 4/C-Cr, and B/sub 4/C-Co. SiAlON exhibited erosion resistance equivalent to the best WC-cermet. Comparison of Machining with Long-Pulse Green and Ultrashort Pulse Lasers

Description: (1) LLNL measured the material removal rate from stainless steel, silicon carbide, rhenium, N5, hastalloy X, and titanium as a function of pulse fluence at a wavelength of 810 nm for pulse durations of 150 fs, 1.5 ps, 20 ps, and 500 ps. Pulsed laser deposition of AlMgB14 thin films

Description: Hard, wear-resistant coatings of thin film borides based on AlMgB{sub 14} have the potential to be applied industrially to improve the tool life of cutting tools and pump vanes and may account for several million dollars in savings as a result of reduced wear on these parts. Chloride Deposition From Steam Onto Superheater Fuel Clad Materials

Description: Experimemts using Cl/sup 36/ in a steam test loop were conducted to study the deposition behavior of chlorides on BONUS superheater fuel assembly materials. The moisture content of the steam was varied between 0 and 0.5 wt%, and superheat was added up to 15 deg F before the steam passed over the test cartridge heater. Description: Tensile and impact properties were investigated at <430 C on V-Cr-Ti, V-Ti-Si, and V-Ti alloys after irradiation to {approx}2-46 dpa at 205-430 C in lithium or helium in the Fast Flux Test Facility (FFTF), High Flux Isotope Reactor (HFIR), Experimental Breeder Reactor II (EBR-II), and Advanced Test Reactor (ATR). Electrodeposition of Uranium and Plutonium on Thin Carbon and Titanium Substrates
