Description: Solid breeder materials are required in D-T fusion reactor blankets to convert fusion neutrons to tritium and thermal energy while providing some neutron shielding for the magnets. Lithium compounds such as Li/sub 2/O, LiAlO/sub 2/, Li/sub 4/SiO/sub 4/ and Li/sub 2/ZrO/sub 3/ have been proposed as solid breeder materials. Description: The Time Projection Chamber (TPC) magnet at LBL and its compensation solenoids are adiabatically stable superconducting solenoid magnets. Investigation of Celotex trademark charring depths in the DT-18 shipping container

Description: Celotex {trademark}, the insulating material used between the outer and inner containers of the DT-18 shipping package, undergoes decomposition, combustion, or both when heated to temperatures exceeding 150{degrees}C. Description: During the third quarter of this program, liquid junction devices based upon the semiconductors MoSe/sub 2/, MoS/sub 2/, GaAs, and CdSe have been evaluated. Dynamic shear behavior of alumina-filled epoxy

Description: Thin-walled tubular specimens of alumina-filled epoxy were loaded in torsion at a strain rate of approximately 10/sup 3/ s/sup -1/ using a stored-torque Kolsky bar. Description: Theoretical and experimental aspects of Lamb waves are considered. These are described as body waves, or modes, which travel throughout an entire plate and are radiated from both surfaces, so that it is possible to detect Lamb waves when the receiver and sender are on opposite sides of the plate.
