Oxidation behavior of iron-chromium alloys at elevated temperatures: A reactive-element effect

Description: Oxidation tests were conducted on samples of Fe-25Cr, Fe-25Cr,-0.3-1.0Y, and Fe-25Cr-1Ce at temperatures of 700 to 1000{degrees}C and oxygen partial pressures of 1 to 20 atm for time periods of 19 to 160 h. In some tests, oxidized samples were quenched from test temperature to room temperature in {approximately}20 min to examine characteristics of the spallation scales. Oxidation of spent fuel in air at 175 degree to 195 degree C

Description: Oxidation tests in dry air were conducted on four LWR spent fuels at 175{degrees} and 195{degrees}C to determine the effect of the fuel characteristics on the oxidation state likely to exist at the time leaching occurs in a potential repository. Description: Purely thermal reactions for the conversion of ethane were carried out in an empty and in a quartz chip filled reactor over a temperature range of 300--800{degrees}C in the absence and presence of oxygen and oxygen plus water. The thermal decomposition of methane in a tubular reactor

Description: The reaction rate of methane decomposition using a tubular reactor having a 1 inch inside diameter with an 8 foot long heated zone was investigated in the temperature range of 700 to 900 C with pressures ranging from 28.2 to 56.1 atm. Orientational phase transitions in alloys. [CsPb; NaSn]

Description: Plastic crystal behavior is observed in semiconducting CsPb and NaSn at high temperature (600 and 500 C, respectively). This behavior is associated with M{sub 4}{sup 4{minus}} or A{sub 4}M{sub 4} structural units orientationally disordering about 50 C below the melting point where translational disorder sets in. Description: The temperature dependence of amorphization dose for zircon under 1.5 MeV Kr ion irradiation has been investigated using the ANL HVEM-Tandem Facility.
