Description: Blow-sand mounds or miniature sand dunes and mounds created by burrowing activities of animals were investigated by the Nevada Applied Ecology Group (NAEG) to determine the influence of mounds on plutonium, americium, and uranium distributions and inventories in areas of the Nevada Test Site and Tonopah Test Range. Radiological survey of the radioactive sands and residues at Lowman, Idaho

Description: No uranium ore milling was performed at the Lowman site, which is located approximately 0.8 km northeast of the town of Lowman, Idaho. Nevertheless, approximately 80,000 metric tons of radioactive sands and residues from upgrading of heavy minerals by physical processing methods remain on the site grounds. Description: This group of wells-of-opportunity (WOOs) consists of four reentry candidates located in Southern Louisiana. The four Louisiana wells have penetrated a thick section of deep hot and geopressured Miocene or Oligocene sand. Thus the geologic risk is essentially eliminated. Comparison of experimental and computational results for reverse ballistic tests into foundry core

Description: A series of nine laboratory-scale penetration tests was conducted in which impact velocity and geometry of the projectile were varied. In all tests, displacement histories were obtained for the penetrator via displacement interferometric techniques.
