The study of parity violation is, at present, the only means of studying the weak nonleptonic strangness conserving nucleon-nucleon force at medium energies. The experiment is a search for parity nonconservation in p-nucleus scattering by observing a change in the total cross section as the helicity of the incident protons is reversed.
