Crop residues as a fuel for power generation

Description: Crop residues could serve as an alternative energy source for producing electric power and heat in agricultural regions of the United States. Nearly 2 quads of residues are estimated to be available as a sustainable annual yield. Analysis of the response of the Raft River monitor wells to the 1979 injection tests

Irrigation data base for Arizona

Description: Determining the locations in the U.S. where solar energy might be used for irrigation was proposed. One of the first steps in determining these locations is to establish a data base for the agricultural states that extensively use irrigation. The data base must include information on the crops grown, the irrigation wells, and the irrigation pumps. Energy sensitivity and variability analysis of Populus hybrid short-rotation plantations in northeastern United States. Final report

Simulation of the long-term accumulation of radiocontaminants in crop plants

Description: Most radiological dose assessment models ignore the long-term buildup of radiocontaminants in the soil. When they estimate levels in crop plants from root uptake, these models account only for the annual input from the source into the soil.
