High-resolution optical imaging on thermoplastic film

Experimental details of a novel method for recording optical images is presented. In this method, a photoconductive layer arranges electric charges according to the optical image projected onto it. The differential electric fields thus produced, squeeze a thermoplastic layer into ridges that constitute the final image.
