Description: "Dignity of Labor." Worker smokes a cigarette and looks directly toward the camera. Narration by Junebug Clark: This striking studio portrait of a hard working laborer has been widely published. It was hung in every United Auto Worker union hall and other labor unions has used it too. In reality, this man is a plumber who came into fix a leaking darkroom sink and while he was there my father sat him down for a portrait. It's a family trait - always keep your camera handy and keep shooting. "If your going to come back and tell me about something you've seen today, bring me back a picture," Joe would often say. [Junebug Clark Playing Baseball in an Alley]

Description: Photograph of two children playing in an alley. One boy, Junebug Clark, hits a ball with a bat, and another boy, Ron Forth, stands behind him, leaning against garage door. Narrative by Junebug Clark: Home plate is the sewer cover in the alley behind our home at 12135 Klinger, Hamtramck, Michigan. 1st base was a telephone pole. 2nd a squashed tin can in the middle of the alley and third base a trash can. The trick was to hit deep up the middle or you may loose your ball for a day or two if it went in Old Man John's backyard. Description: Photograph of a line of cars traveling on the Cobo Hall Parking Ramp in Detroit. Two ships can be seen on the Detroit River with Canada in the background. Life Magazine pages 28-29. 1961 Cars - Cobo Hall Ramp. This photo by Joe appears in a two page Life magazine spread. It coincided the with 1.) Opening of Cobo Hall and 2.) The Detroit North American Auto show opening and 3.) The unvieling of the new 1961 Automobiles. Joe had a 40 foot scaffold built on top of a nearby building to get the angle for this photo. Luckily the parking structure that this ramp lead to was not yet opened and these new cars could be driven into position, photographed and then driven back into Cobo Hall for exhibition.
