The structure and properties of grain boundaries in B2 ordered alloys

Description: This report covers the period from April 1, 1989 to March 30, 1990. During this period further extrusions of fine-grained alloys of FeAl and NiAl with different aluminum contents were produced. PDC IC WELD FAILURE EVALUATION AND RESOLUTION

Description: During final preparations for start of the PDCF Inner Can (IC) qualification effort, welding was performed on an automated weld system known as the PICN. During the initial weld, using a pedigree canister and plug, a weld defect was observed. The defect resulted in a hole in the sidewall of the canister, and it was observed that the plug sidewall had not been consumed. Emerging Magnetism Arising from Self-Damage in (alpha) and (delta)-Pu

Description: As a consequence of the unusual nature of plutonium's electronic structure, point- and extended-defects are expected to, and do exhibit extraordinary properties[1]. A Method to Improve Activation of Implanted Dopants in SiC

Description: Implantation of dopant ions in SiC has evolved according to the assumption that the best electrical results (i.e., carrier concentrations and mobility) is achieved by using the highest possible processing temperature. This includes implantation at > 600 C followed by furnace annealing at temperatures as high as 1,750 C.
