Description: In the title compound, the Sr-N distances are 2.624 (3) and 2.676 (3) Angstroms. The Sr-centroid distances are 2.571 and 2.561 Angstroms. The N-C-C-N torsion angle in the bipyridine ligand is 2.2 (4){sup o}. Interestingly, the bipyridine ligand is tilted. The angle between the plane defined by Sr1, N1 and N2 and the plane defined by the 12 atoms of the bipyridine ligand is 10.7{sup o}.

Description: This report covers the work done to analyze the optical output of a Light Emitting Diode. This diode consists' of a Monsanto MV2 LED chip in an MV50 package. A calculator based instrumentation system is described including programming techniques used to reduce and display data. A Light Instrumentation System with specially designed fiber optic cables is described which gathers data for processing by the calculator based instrumentation system. Future work will include analysis of the RCA 8571 Photomultiplier Tube.

Carbon Microsphere/Fiber/Polyimide Binder Syntactic Composite

Description: A manufacturing process for syntactic foal billets has been developed, and the progression through the mixing, blending, and molding operations is discussed. With basic requirements for a lightweight, thermally conductive, high strength foam, resolution was attained in a mix of a polyimide resin, carbon microspheres, and graphic fiber.

Description: Activities aimed at improving work directors which program the instructions required for fabricating printed wiring board assemblies included designing solid-state switching circuitry for improved reliability, evaluating interface cabling techniques, studying visual-aid display-lamp mounting, and packaging innovations for product interface and troubleshooting convenience. The prototype solid-state work director functions satisfactorily. Recommendations for the design and fabrication of future work directors include wire-wrapped terminal construction technique and use of light-emitting diodes to replace conventional incandescent lamps.
