Description: Although production of U/sub 3/O/sub 8/ declined only slightly in 1980, New Mexico's share of domestic production has declined from 48% in 1976 to 35% in 1980. Production projections indicate a continued decline in 1981 and lower production until at least 1984. New Mexico has 41% of total domestic reserves producible in the $50-per-lb cost category. Description: During this period we studied the effects of 350{degrees}C treatment on Argonne-supplied Wyodak coal with n-alkane undecane in place of water in both 30 min. and 5 hr. experiments. Extraction of Potential Pollutants From Ohio Coal by Synergistic Use of Supercritical Fluids. Final Report

Description: A synergistic supercritical extraction process was developed and its feasibility demonstrated using a semi-batch extraction process unit. The process was found to be effective in selectively cleaning organic sulfur from Ohio coals. Optimal case involved a mixture of CO{sub 2}, H{sub 2}O, and CH{sub 3}OH, and the removal of organic sulfur ranged from 35 to 55%.
