Description: Recording of Elizabeth Hoffman's Filiforms. The heart of this work is the 8-channel, speaker point diffusion concept. The stereo version tries to capture what it can of this. The composer states that no single, or forward facing, listener point of view is necessary; but a circular diffusion space surrounding all listeners is essential.

Fizz

Description: Recording of Maggi Payne's Fizz. The two sounds that sparked this composition are that of disequilibrium in a toilet tank and the sound of fizz. The composer says they've always loved the sound but never had a good recording of it until a student brought one in. Although some sounds may be somewhat identifiable, the composer hopes the listener will explore the piece purely for its sonic content.

This work uses recordings of a refrigerator, freezer, floor furnace, ice melting, water boiling, a Jacob's ladder, a faulty faucet, and sounds from 78 old recordings. Description: Recording of Judith Shatin's Cherry Blossom and a Wrapped Thing: After Hokusai. This work was inspired by a print of the same name by the Japanese printmaker known as Hokusai. The piece is scored for amplified clarinet and stereo electronics. The stereo electronics were created by slivers of "Sea of Reeds", an earlier piece commissioned by clarinetist, F. Gerard Errante.

Description: Recording of Natasha Barrett's Where Shadows do for Bodies Stand. This work was created for classical guitar and computer, in which the electroacoustic element expands the guitar's quiet and intimate sound. This piece was inspired by the song "Can she excuse my wrongs" by John Dowland. The music, text, and atmosphere embodied in Dowland's original is reinterpreted by means of the guitar and computer duet.
