The electromagnetic flowmeter is an instrument that measures the velocity of a fluid moving in a tube or pipe. By constraining the vessel in a sleeve, flow may be measured directly. A magnetic field crosses the tube at 90 deg to the axis of the tube and to the plane of the electrcdes. As the ions in the fiuid pass the magnetic field, a voltage is induced in the electrode.
