Reconnaissance of Some Red Bed Copper Deposits in the Southwestern United States

Description: A reconnaissance of many of the copper deposits in the Red Beds of New Mexico, Arizona, Oklahoma, and Texas that was carried out in the summer of 1951 yielded chiefly negative results from the standpoint of uranium production. With the possible exception of the Grand View mine, which will require further investigation, none of the deposits seen in this survey gives promise of being of commercial interest for uranium at the present time.

Preliminary Report on a Uranium Occurrence and Regional Geology in the Cherry Creek Area, Gila County, Arizona

Description: Introduction: A reconnaissance of the Black Brush property was made by geologists of the Atomic Energy Commission in March, 1955. This anomalous area was located by an earlier airborne radiometric survey. the examination consisted of preliminary sampling and surface and underground radiometric traversing.

Uranium in the Dirty Devil Shimarump Channel Deposit

Description: From abstract: Uranium ores occur in a river channel deposit of composite type. Uranium and its daughter elements segregate during migration and each has its own accumulator. The entire deposit stays close to radioactive equilibrium but individual mineral components have departures up to 1000 fold.

Preliminary Memorandum, East Slope Area, Marysvale, Utah

Description: From introduction: Preliminary field data have been assembled as a background for laboratory investigations directed toward interpretation of alteration features in the East Slope area. Such data constitute one of several units which should improve our understanding of the pattern of uranium distribution.
