Observation of Single Top Quark Production with the D0 Detector

We report on the observation of single top quark production by the D0 collaboration using a dataset of 2.3 fb{sup -1} collected at the Fermilab Tevatron p{bar p} collider. Several multivariate techniques are combined to separate the single top signal from backgrounds. The measured single top cross section is {sigma}{sub tb+tqb} = 3.94 {+-} 0.88 pb.
