Description: Report presenting a wind-tunnel investigation of two semispan wing models with 45 degrees of sweepback, an aspect ratio of 5, and a taper ratio of 0.565. One wing had no camber or twist while the other was cambered for a design lift coefficient of 0.4 and twisted to relieve loading at the tip. Results regarding the plane wing, cambered and twisted wing, wing-body combinations, effect of camber and twist, effect of fences, effect of surface roughness, and lift-drag ratio are provided.

Pressure distribution at Mach numbers up to 0.90 on a cambered and twisted wing having 40 degrees of sweepback and an aspect ratio of 10, including the effects of fences

Description: Report presenting pressure measurements on a semispan model of a cambered and twisted wing, alone and in combination with a fuselage. The wing had 40 degrees of sweepback, an aspect ratio of 10, a taper ratio of 0.4, and 5 degrees of washout at the tip. Results regarding the pressure distribution and flow separation, section characteristics, and span loading characteristics are provided.

An investigation of the subsonic speed range of a full-span and a semispan model of a plane wing and of a cambered and twisted wing, all having 45 degrees of sweepback

Description: Report presenting a wind-tunnel investigation of two full-span and two semispan models with 45 degrees of sweepback, an aspect ratio of 5.5, and a taper ratio of 0.53. The lift and drag data obtained from tests of the semispan agreed well with data obtained on the full-span model. Results regarding a comparison of the data for the full-span and semispan models, full-span model data, and effect of surface roughness are provided.

Lift, drag, and pitching moment of low-aspect-ratio wings at subsonic and supersonic speeds: An investigation at large Reynolds numbers of the low-speed characteristics of several wing-body combinations

Description: Report presenting an investigation of several wing-body combinations with wings suitable for supersonic interceptor-type aircraft at high Reynolds numbers and low Mach numbers. Nine wing-body combinations were tested with three different wing aspect ratios and three different plan forms. Results regarding the lift, drag, and pitching moment are provided.
