Description: Photocopy of a letter from Nancy Reynolds, NTIEVA, to Vicki Rosenberg, program officer for the Getty Center, in regards to Rosenberg's interest in the Boys & Girls Clubs of Fort Worth. Reynolds states the the Club initially wanted NTIEVA to develop an art program for the six branches of Fort Worth, however, the person in charge of the program has no real power to implement the art program and their program director is opposed to the idea in general. Reynolds writes that the participants of the seminars feel that an art program is important and they want to implement programs into their branches, but unsure if progress will be made.

[Letter from Nancy Reynolds to the Denton and Pilot Point Art Specialists, February 19, 1992]

Description: Photocopy of a letter from Nancy Reynolds, project coordinator of North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts, to Denton and Pilot Point Art Specialists, in regards to NTIEVA's Education Exhibit. Reynolds hopes that everyone will attend the Multicultural Seminar at the Dallas Museum of Art, February 29th. Should they attend they need to bring their school's work for the NTIEVA Exhibit so that Reynolds can collectively put the pieces of artwork together. Reynolds ends the letter by writing that Brent Wilson, the Getty's Evaluator for NTIEVA might have an interest in visiting Denton and Pilot Point schools in May and that Reynolds will provide further details.

[Letter from Nancy Reynolds to Augustus Whitted, May 5, 1994]

Description: Photocopy of a letter from Nancy Reynolds, project coordinator of North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts, to Augustus Whitted, Director of Elementary Education, in regards to Burton Hill Elementary School submitting a proposal for an Extended Fine Arts Program. The North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts supports and endorses the proposal, giving thoughtful consideration for its funding. Reynolds explains in the letter that NTIEVA is a program devoted to research and development of discipline-based art education (DBAE), and that Fort Worth ISD and Burton Hill has been a model for the development of the strategies implemented from the program. NTIEVA will continue to support the educational initiative taking place at Burton Hill.

In particular, some concerns about what Dr. Fox has said during the conference which Reynolds finds disturbing, as many other faculty had not reported it from that perspective. Regarding that North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts has recently become an affiliate distributor of the National Gallery of Art, receiving a selection of resources from the National Gallery in Washington, D.C., including slide programs and videocassettes. The resources are located in NTIEVA's office for free loan to consortium members and the art faculty of UNT. Programs on the slides cover, artists, museums, architecture, painting and other extensive materials.

The letter is an enclosed summary of the evaluations from Fletcher's secondary institute. Reynolds writes that NTIEVA is excited about the positive results and are happy that they reflect the success of the Institute. Reynolds continues, wanting to let Fletcher know that the Ghost Ranch Spring Retreat idea has become reality, and that she'll send details in the upcoming newsletter. The retreat is for twenty adults for the nights of March 14 - 18 at Ghost Ranch Conference Center north of Aliquiu, New Mexico. Reynolds mentions that participants can go on to mini-seminars and excursions or just enjoy free time and relax. Attached to the letter is Fletcher's evaluation summary.

Double Vision: The Art of Hung Liu

Description: An article, "Double Vision: The Art of Hung Liu," by Nancy Walkup Reynolds, for Trends, Spring of 1998. Reynolds is a Project Coordinator for the North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts, University of North Texas, and has written this article on contemporary artist Hung Liu. Liu, born in China but now resides in the United States appropriate images from historical photographs to create paintings and mix media installations that expresses her bicultural perspective.

In discussion of an upcoming class trip from Plano students to the DMA for a video session. Reynolds writes that the expected trip will take place on March 31, at 10:00 am with a second grade class from Christie Elementary in Plano. The children will first view a video in the school taught by the classroom teacher and art specialist before the museum experience. The two video sessions will be part of a joint Texas/Nebraska teleworkshop that will be broadcast to 19 states on October 7 and 21.

Reynolds continues that Dr. William Otten is interested in bringing NTIEVA to speak at the Art Museum of South Texas, and that possibly Eshom can reach out to him to coordinate efforts. Description: Photocopy of a letter from Nancy Reynolds, Project Coordinator of North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts, to John Biggers. In regards to Biggers being unable to speak at the opening session during NTIEVA's summer institute. Reynolds writes the institute has been showing Biggers' "Hampton video" to their teachers and including his work from the Dallas Museum of Art into their study print collection. Reynolds writes that Jack Davis, Bill McCarter and herself have worked with Ollie Theisen to present a teacher workshop in conjunction with Bigger's exhibit in Mount Pleasant and she is working with others to produce an education video for the students and are requesting Biggers permission to use some of his images in the video. Enclosed in the letter to Biggers, Reynolds has included some material that provides more information about their project and the Institute.
