The SPARX Project: R & D Activity Towards X-Rays FEL Sources

Description: SPARX is an evolutionary project proposed by a collaboration among ENEA-INFN-CNR-Universita di Roma Tor Vergata aiming at the construction of a FELSASE X-ray source in the Tor Vergata Campus. The first phase of the SPARX project, funded by Government Agencies, will be focused on R&D activity on critical components and techniques for future X-ray facilities as described in this paper.

DAFNE Setup And Operation With the Crab-Waist Collision Scheme

Description: In the second half of 2007 a major upgrade has been implemented on the Frascati DA{Phi}NE collider in order to test the novel idea of Crab-Waist collisions. Crabbed Waist Collisions in DAFNE and Super-B Design

Description: The new idea of increasing the luminosity of a collider with crab waist collisions and first experimental results from the DA{Phi}NE {Phi}-Factory at LNF, Frascati, using this concept are presented. Consequences for the design of future factories will be discussed. An outlook to the performance reach with crab waist collisions is given, with emphasis on future B Factories.

Status of DAFNE

Description: DA{Phi}NE is a double ring electron-positron collider, designed to provide very high luminosity at the energy of the {Phi} resonance (1.02 GeV c.m.). DAFNE Status Report

Description: DAFNE, the Frascati {Phi}-factory, is providing an increasing peak and integrated luminosity for the KLOE experiment. Such improvements, together with a background reduction in the KLOE detector, have been obtained after continuous machine studies. Proposal of An Experiment on Bunch Length Modulation in DAFNE

Description: Obtaining very short bunches is an issue especially for colliders but also for CSR sources. The modulation of the bunch length in a strong rf focusing regime had been proposed, corresponding to a high value of the synchrotron tune. DAFNE Status Report

Description: The operation of DAPHNE, the 1.02 GeV c.m. e{sup +}e{sup -} collider of the Frascati National Laboratory with the KLOE experimental detector was successfully concluded in March 2006.
