Validation and Evaluation of Emergency Response Plans through Agent-Based Modeling and Simulation

Description: Biological emergency response planning plays a critical role in protecting the public from possible devastating results of sudden disease outbreaks. These plans describe the distribution of medical countermeasures across a region using limited resources within a restricted time window. Thus, the ability to determine that such a plan will be feasible, i.e. successfully provide service to affected populations within the time limit, is crucial. Many of the current efforts to validate plans are in … more

Scaffolding for Digital Curation Education: A One Week Unix Fundamentals Course

Description: This poster discusses scaffolding for digital curation eductaion. The authors will teach students how to perform commands such as changing directories, moving and copying files, compressing folders, and altering permissions in the Unix environment. This will give students some basic preparation for digital curation work and for the (4) intermediate and advanced courses in digital curation and data management offered by the iCamp Project at the University of North Texas.

Combinatorial-Based Testing Strategies for Mobile Application Testing

Description: This work introduces three new coverage criteria based on combinatorial-based event and element sequences that occur in the mobile environment. The novel combinatorial-based criteria are used to reduce, prioritize, and generate test suites for mobile applications. The combinatorial-based criteria include unique coverage of events and elements with different respects to ordering. For instance, consider the coverage of a pair of events, e1 and e2. The least strict criterion, Combinatorial Coverag… more
