Description: Report presenting an investigation to determine the blade torsional deflection of three supersonic-type propellers at various operating conditions. Blade-torsional deflection was found to produce appreciable results that can be predicted by theory with good accuracy. Results regarding the efficiency, thrust coefficient, and power coefficient are provided.

Transonic loads characteristics of a 3-percent-thick 60 degree delta-wing-body combination

Description: Report presenting an investigation in the transonic tunnel to determine the aerodynamic loading characteristics of a 3-percent-thick, aspect-ratio-2.06, 60 degree delta-wing-body combination at a range of Mach numbers and angles of attack. Results regarding pressure distributions, spanwise loadings, integrated wing coefficients, and tabulated pressure coefficients are provided.

Transonic aerodynamic and trim characteristics of 1/15-scale models of the Convair MX-1964 airplane with indented fuselage

Description: Report presenting an investigation of two scale models of the MX-1964 airplane with indented fuselage conducted in the transonic tunnel. One model had a plane delta wing with full-span elevons and the other had a cambered delta wing with partial-span elevons. Results regarding the aerodynamic characteristics and effect of elevon deflection are provided.

Effects of boattail area contouring and simulated turbojet exhaust on the loading and fuselage-tail component drag of a twin-engine fighter-type airplane model

Description: From Summary: "An investigation of a twin-engine fighter-type airplane model has been conducted in the Langley 16-foot transonic tunnel to determine the effect on drag of a fuselage volume addition incorporating streamline contouring and more extensive boattailing of the engine shrouds. The effect of hot exhausts from the turbojet engines was simulated with hydrogen peroxide gas generators using scaled nonafterburning engine nozzles. Afterbody pressure distributions, base drag coefficients, and forces on the fuselage-tail configurations are presented at Mach numbers from 0.80 to 1.05 angles of attack of 0 degree and 4 degrees for jet pressure ratios from 1 to 7."
