New calorimetric studies of inorganic fluorine compounds. [Silver uranium fluoride, AgUF/sub 6/; cesium fluoroxysulfate, CsSO/sub 4/F]

Description: In this paper, recently determined enthalpies of formation are presented for two fluorides, silver(I) uranium(V) fluoride, AgUF/sub 6/, and cesium fluoroxysulfate, CsSO/sub 4/F. In addition the derivation of entropy is presented for CsSO/sub 4/F.

Some natural zeolites: recent thermodynamic results, their application, and the estimation of missing thermodynamic quantities

Description: New calorimetric measurements are reported on the following minerals: analcime, dehydrated analcime, natrolite, scolecite, mesolite, and heulandite. The thermodynamic quantities determined include the standard enthalpy of formation, ..delta..H{sub f}{sup 0} (298{sup 0}K), the high- and low-temperature enthalpy increments, H{sup 0} (T) - H{sup 0} (298{sup 0}K), the low-temperature (5 to 350{sup 0}K) heat capacity, C{sub p}{sup 0} (T), the standard entropy, S{sup 0} (T), and the Gibbs energy of formation, ..delta..G{sub f}{sup 0} (T). The application of calorimetric data to equilibria of geologic interest is demonstrated. A part of the paper also deals with the estimation of missing thermodynamic quantities.
