FUETAP (formed under elevated temperatures and pressures) concretes as hosts for radioactive wastes
Description:
Cementitious solids formed at less than or equal to 250/sup 0/C and less than or equal to 1000 psi offer excellent possibilities as hosts for radioactive wastes. Preliminary results are presented on the effect of mix composition, temperatre, and pressure on the physical properties of the resulting solids. Initial leach results are encouraging in the assessment of the ability of these FUETAP concretes to isolate radionuclides from the environment.
