3D Atom Probe Tomography Study on Segregation of Yttrium in Modified Aluminum-Silicon Alloys

Description: In this article, yttrium segregation behavior in Al-Si alloys has been studied using the three-dimensional atom probe tomography technique. Al-Si alloys were prepared by casting method, and yttrium was added to modify the eutectic silicon morphology in these alloys. The results indicated that yttrium is preferentially located within the Si phase, with the highest concentration at the interface between eutectic Al and eutectic Si.

Composition-dependent apparent activation-energy and sluggish grain-growth in high entropy alloys

Description: Article discusses experimental results which reveal that the apparent activation-energy for grain-growth in an fcc-based AlxCoCrFeNi high entropy alloy (HEA) system increases from 179 to 486 kJ/mol when the Al content increases from x = 0.1 to 0.3.

Strengthening strategy for a ductile metastable β-titanium alloy using low-temperature aging

Description: This article demonstrates that low-temperature aging (LTA) treatments for short time periods can in fact enhance the yield strength while preserving substantial elongation-to-failure in ω containing β titanium alloys.
