Description: Interview with Dr. Arthur M. Sampley, a college professor, former college administrator, and former poet laureate from Denton Texas. In the interview, Dr. Sampley describes his life growing up in Denton and attending school at the University of Texas. He talks about becoming a poet and analyzes his poetry as well as describing tenure as director of libraries and vice-president for academic affairs at North Texas State College, his philosophy of teaching, and the desegregation of the college in 1955-56.
