Description: Photograph of a framed portrait of Alvin and Lucy Owsley circa February, 1939 that was displayed in the Owsley Foyer in Willis Library after its dedication. There is a note at the bottom that reads "United States Minister to Denmark Alvin M. Owsley and Lucy Ball Owsley prepare to greet visiting U. S. Senator Phillip La Follette during a reception in Copenhagen in February, 1939. Owsley served as United States Minister to Romania (1933-1935), the Irish Free State (1935-1937), and Denmark (1937-1939)." The photographer is reflected in the glass of the frame.
