NOVEL INTEGRATING SOLID STATE DETECTOR WITH SEGMENTATION FOR SCANNING TRANSMISSION SOFT X-RAY MICROSCOPY.

Description: An integrating solid state detector with segmentation has been developed that addresses the needs in scanning transmission x-ray microscopy below 1 keV photon energy. The detector is not cooled and can be operated without an entrance window which leads to a total photon detection efficiency close to 100%. Shuffler bias corrections using calculated count rates

Description: Los Alamos National Laboratory has two identical shufflers that have been calibrated with a dozen U{sub 3}O{sub 8} certified standards from 10 g {sup 235}U to 3600 g {sup 235}U. The shufflers are used to assay a wide variety of material types for their {sup 235}U contents. CVD Diamond Detectors for Current Mode Neutron Time-of-Flight Spectroscopy at OMEGA/NIF

Description: As part of a laser fusion diagnostic development program, we have performed pulsed neutron and pulsed laser tests of a CVD diamond detector manufactured from DIAFILM, a commercial grade of CVD diamond. The laser tests were performed at the short pulse UV laser at Bechtel Nevada in Livermore, CA. Design and Testing of the 1.5 T Superconducting Solenoid for the BaBar Detector at Pep-II in SLAC

Description: The 1.5 Tesla superconducting solenoid is part of the BABAR Detector located in the PEP-II B-Factory machine at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. The solenoid has a 2.8 m bore and is 3.7 m long. Development of a readout technique for the high data rate BTeV pixel detector at Fermilab

Description: The pixel detector for the BTeV experiment at Fermilab provides digitized data from approximately 22 million silicon pixel channels. The D-Zero Run II Detector and physics prospects

Description: The DO Detector at Fermilab is currently undergoing an extensive upgrade to participate in the Run II data taking which shall begin on March 1, 2001. A program in detector development for the US synchrotron radiation community

Description: There is a clear gulf between the capabilities of modern synchrotrons to deliver high photon fluxes, and the capabilities of detectors to measure the resulting photon, electron or ion signals. Tevatron optics with magnet moves for Roman pots at CDF

Description: CDF would like to install high precision track detectors. There is ample room on A-sector side, but space needs to be created at B11. The favored plan is to shove the first 3 B11 dipoles inwards toward the IP by 2.274 m. Single event effects in the pixel readout chip for BTeV

Description: In future experiments the readout electronics for pixel detectors is required to be resistant to a very high radiation level.
