Description: The feasibility of using coal-water fuels (CWF) in gas turbine combustors has been demonstrated in recent pilot plant experiments. Development of Megasonic cleaning for silicon wafers

Description: The Megasonic cleaning system was integrated and debugged. The system consists of the Megasonic cleaning sink, a rinse station, an air dryer, and an inspection station equipped with a laser scanner for the detection of light-scattering centers on a wafer. The recirculation-filtration system is operating satisfactorily. Mulled coal: A beneficiated coal form for use as a fuel or fuel intermediate

Advanced moisture sensor research and development

Community Geothermal Technology Program: Experimental lumber drying kiln. Final report

Description: Goals were to demonstrate feasibility of using the geothermal waste effluent from the HGP-A well as a heat source for a kiln operation to dry hardwoods, develop drying schedules, and develop automatic systems to monitor/control the geothermally heated lumber dry kiln systems. Description: Changes in coal structure that occur during coal drying and steam pretreatments will be measured in order to determine what effect water has on retrograde/condensation reactions, and to determine how water enhances coal reactivity toward liquefaction. Description: A technique is developed to construct bulk hydroxyapatite (HAp) with different cellular structures. The technique involves the initial synthesis of nanocrystalline hydroxyapatite powder from an aqueous solution using water-soluble compounds and then followed by spray drying into agglomerated granules. Description: Analysis of poly(ethylene glycol)(PEG)-containing particles by online single particle aerosol mass spectrometers equipped with laser desorption ionization (LDI) is reported. Cryogenic Adsorption of Hydrogen Isotopes Over Nano-Structured Materials

Description: Porous materials such as zeolites, activated carbon, silica gels, alumina and a number of industrial catalysts are compared and ranked for hydrogen and deuterium adsorption at liquid nitrogen temperature. All samples show higher D{sub 2} adsorption than that of H{sub 2}, in which a HY sample has the greatest isotopic effect while 13X has the highest hydrogen uptake capacity.
