Co-introduction of precipitate hardening and TRIP in a TWIP high-entropy alloy using friction stir alloying

Description: Article exploring friction stir alloying (FSA) to tune the microstructure and a composition of a TWIP high-entropy alloy by adding Ti, and thus activating site-specific deformation mechanisms that occur concomitantly in a single alloy. This approach presents a novel microstructural architecture to design alloys, an approach that combines and optimizes local compositions such that multiple deformation mechanisms can be activated to enhance engineering properties.

In situ cardiac performance of Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua) at cold temperatures: long-term acclimation, acute thermal challenge and the role of adrenaline

Description: This article measures the cardiac performance of Newfoundland Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua). The results: (1) show that maximum performance of the isolated cod heart is not compromised by exposure to cold temperatures; and (2) support data from other studies, which show that, in contrast to salmonids, cod cardiac performance/myocardial contractility is not dependent upon humoral adrenergic stimulation.

Constraints-based stoichiometric analysis of hypoxic stress on steroidogenesis in fathead minnows, Pimephales promelas

Description: This article presents a study in which an in silico genome-scale metabolic model of steroidogenesis is used to investigate the effects of hypoxic stress on steroid hormone productions in fish. This article introduces a powerful model for pathway analysis that can lend insights on the effects of various stressor scenarios on metabolic functions.

[Leather Bound Town]

Description: Document of an article and images of advertisements in the Yoakum Herald Times. The article is the recent news about how Yoakum is known for its leather industry and the Tex Tan Western Leather Company. The images are the new sales in Yoakum, creating a break in the reading, and the article continues to state the growth of Tex Tan and its success in its production of leather goods.

[Resolution Certification from the Hoblitzelle Foundation]

Description: Document of a resolution certification from the Hoblitzelle Foundation regarding the selling of land to the Dallas Citizens' Interracial Association. 17.527 acres from the total 172.96 acres were released to the association. The mortgage for the land has been approved, with secretary Van Alen Hollomon signing the resolution.
