The operation of a Magnatest Type FM-500 Elastomat instrument, the detection and recognition of the resonant frequencies of a sample, the methods and formulas for the calculation of the elastic moduli from the resonant frequencies, and results obtained from testing several different materials and sample shapes are discussed.
