On the Existences of a Magnetic and Focusing Length in a Synchrotron
Description:
Measurements of S and s values indicate that existence of two different effective lengths in the azimuthal direction. We call them equivalent magnetic length and equivalent focusing length respectively. We demonstrate that the first one is the length to be used for the calculation of the radius and the second one in the calculation of the field gradient values. The formulas for the structure of the Cambridge Electron Accelerator are derived on this basis.
