Shîyr

Description: Recording of João Pedro Oliveira's Shîyr. The title of this piece come from the first text written by Solomon in the Old Testament. It has been poetically and theologically interpreted throughout centuries, however, this piece does not try and induce any of these interpretations on the listener. Instead, it tries to leave an open space for the listener, both religious and agnostic. This piece was written for 2 sopranos and an orchestra.

In Die Resurrectionis

Description: Recording of Luigi Ceccarelli's In Die Resurrectionis. This is an electro-acoustic installation for the basilica of San Vitale inspired by the 12th century sacred musical tradition of Ravenna. This work was commissioned by the Ravenna Festival. The composer describes this work as his exploration of the relationship between music and spirituality, using Gregorian chant and traditional choral music to emphasize this.
