A) Top of ivory lace in a large flower and vine pattern with a boat neck and bracelet sleeves; raw edges all over with reinforcement only at neckline; A-line; ends at hips. B) Skirt of embroidered wavy lines of off-white yarn backed on lightweight white fabric; 1'' waistband; side slit pockets; knee-length; lined with ivory synthetic slip and hemmed with synthetic lace. Cotton petticoat

Description: Petticoat of white cotton batiste. Fitted at waist and bell shaped/flaired below knees ; slightly trained in back. Fine insertion lace in 2-1/2" waves for ribbon insertion. Many rows of narrow inserted lace, 4" band of white embroidery in leaf motif and lace edged hem.

[Etcing and engraving "Puer parvulus minabiteos"]

Description: French religious etching and engraving titled "Puer Parvulus Minabiteos" (The Boy Threatened Them), which depictsa woman and three children in a field with a herd of wolfs, lions, and tigers among sheep and cattle. The main child, the baby Jesus, appears with a shepherds crook leading the flock.

Description: Etching and engraving of the historical female figure "Porcie" wearing roman style robes published in 1647 as part of the series "Galerie des Femmes fortes". The image is paired with descriptive French text that reads "Porcie at the edge of the burning coals, to go after her husband: and by the boldness and novelty of her death, equal to the reputation of Cato and the glory of Brutus."

[Pastoral French landscape etching and engraving]

Description: Pastoral French etching and engraving of a landscape showing a small herd of cattle wadding through a stream that cuts through a hilly landscape with many trees. Two small figures appear conversing on the bank of the stream with a lone individual on a horse. The print is attributed to French designer and printmaker Adam Perelle and was published in Paris by Pierre Mariette.

[Pieces of a fragmented envelope belonging to a booklet]

Description: Fragments of an envelope, addressed to S. Lauderdale paired with a possible back page of a booklet which reads in French "Moreau Éditeur Versailles" with an insignia of a line with floral decorations running through it. The booklet leaf could be a possible souvenir from Lauderdale's time spent in France.

[Letter from Victor Lauderdale to his father J.R Lauderdale, May 11, 1919]

Description: Letter from Victor Lauderdale to his father on American YMCA Stationary, dated May 11, 1919. The letter is brief and informs his father of a letter he enclosed for his mother in celebration of mothers day despite her death with the sentiment "We were with her in life; even so in death we shall be with her." He goes on to mention a trip to Belgium that he is contemplating taking before he comes back to the states.

Folding fan

Description: Folding fan. Guards and sticks of carved and pierced ivory (bone?) with a foliage designs. The white sheer doubled organdy leaf is hand-painted with central vignette of a garden scene of a couple greeting a woman seated on a bench. The leaf with added hand-panted border of a garland of flowers. Reverse is unadorned. No visible labels, marks or signatures.
