Description: Day dress of white linen in sheath-style. Sleeveless with wide, rounded neckline. Closure at back neckline with two "caviar buttons," large domed buttons covered in small round white beads and bound buttonholes. Belt of self fabric is attached to dress and also trimmed with two "caviar buttons" and bound buttonholes. Lined in cream colored silk. Hydrologic and Tracer Studies in Mohawk River at Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory

Description: Preface: In 1948, the U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the Atomic Energy Commission, initiated a study of the hydraulics and hydrology of Mohawk River in the vicinity of the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory (KAPL) near Schenectady, N.Y. The purpose of this study was to determine the probable effects of release of low concentrations of radioactive wastes from the Laboratory to Mohawk River.

Description: Hat of black felt. Styled similar to a fedora, the medium-height crown is rounded at top, and encircled at base by a wide black grosgrain ribbon, folded over at sides, and with multilayer bow at back. Medium-width brim is somewhat floppy, generally sloping downwards. The hat is unlined, with inner black grosgrain ribbon hatband. Pillbox Hat

Description: Hat of black straw. Styled as a pillbox, the low crown is cylindrical with a flattened top. The crown sits within a second "layer" of crown, which curves under and forms an inner ring which sits on the head, leaving the outer edge of the crown somewhat cantilevered.
