He is not sure if he will get to go home on the way. He received a letter from John Hawthorp saying their relations were well. Also mentioned in the letter is that three or four of the boys have measles.

Kennard to his mother, Sarah Kennard from Washington, Hempstead County, Arkansas discussing his marching from Dangerfield and their continued marching into Little Rock to meet up with his regiment. Mentions meeting soldiers who were discharged because of their age. He met several soldiers in Washington who were in his company and left behind because of sickness and Mart White, who had died.
