Camello
Recording of Rubén Hinojosa Chapel and Bérengère de Tarlé's Camello. This work tells an imaginary story by taking elements from real life including the sounds of public transportation in Havana. It is a soundscape of a part of the daily life in Havana. The composer points to the importance of the words in the piece from people speaking and public announcements as it holds symbolism for the Cuban people. This work premiered at the "XIII Festival de La Habana de Música Contemporánea".
Thrum
Recording of John Gibson's Thrum. This is an electroacoustic piece that revolves around a wide range of sounds played on an acoustic guitar. Many of the guitar textures were created by a virtual player that read short guitar samples and created a pulsed repetitive texture. The composer's aim was to create music that balances human qualities against the regularity of machines.
The garden electric
Recording of Gordon Fitzell's The garden electric. This work was inspired by images in John Milton's epic, Paradise Lost, and uses an industrial soundscape to depict a modern Garden of Eden. The piece premiered at Telling Visions, a concert at Simon Fraser University in Canada.
Acousmaclarine
Recording of Jean-Louis Poliart's Acousmaclarine. This work consists of two recordings: one of the electronic tape only, the other of the electronic tape and bass clarinet performance on top. This work is a counterpart to the 1980's piece "Contrephase" and has an opposite approach to the relationship between the electroacoustic montage and clarinetist.

Alap-jor-jhala-gat
Recording of João Pedro Oliveira's Alap-jor-jhala-gat. This piece is part 2 of the larger work: The Journey of Sounds, and is based on the traditions of India. This recording is separated into two versions, one with violin and viola and one without. It was commissioned for the festivities of the 500th anniversary of the Portuguese discoveries.

Vox Alia
Recording of Annette Vande Gorne's Vox Alia. This work is separated into 4 main movements: Giocoso, Amoroso, Inncentemente, and Furioso. The composer describes each of these as small vocal studies that have been transformed through electroacoustics. While this work is split into separate tracks, they are all meant to be played together in an octophonic setting. This work was commissioned by the GRM (a musical research group in Paris).

Johnson. "Chat Noir" explores the paradox of opposition in the psychological reality of mankind. This work was created with the support of the ministry of the French speaking community in Belgium and is registered at S.A.C.E.M.

Raw Data
Recording of Maggi Payne's Raw Data. This work was composed as a response to Koji Marutani's request for pieces for his End ID CD. The theme was to address the technological advances that occurred in the 20th century and "Raw Data" was made using sounds of shortwave broadcasts. The piece moves from early 20th Century communications (Morse code transmissions) to present (tapes, cassettes, shortwave, etc.).

Recording of Guillaume Bonnefont's Métaux Hurlants. This piece is the first in a series of four works that were inspired by science fiction and the composers vision of mankind's evolution in space.
Half-life
Recording of Curtis Roads' Half-life. This work is divided into 2 sections: Sonal atoms and Granules. It was premiered in May 1998 at the Australian National Academy of Music, Melbourne, with sound projection over 28 loudspeakers. The composer dedicates this work to his friend, the composer Ivan Tcherepnin.
Hydraulis
Recording of Colby Leider's Hydraulis. This work attempts to methodically create and subsequently deconstruct a thick, multilayered texture composed entirely of sounds relating in some way to the ancient Greek Hydraulis, or water-organ. At the center of the work is an extended processed quotation of the motet "In Hydraulis" by Antoine Busnois. The piece was composed using Super Collider sound synthesis language on an Apple Macintosh computer.

The movements are titled: 1. Cantare, 2. Tedium, 3. Traumen, 4. Distance, and 5. Escape/Hallucination.
La Mer Bleue
Recording of Theodoros Lotis' La Mer Bleue. This work is dedicated to Martha and is comprised of two movements: 1. bleu and 2. profonde. The sound materials used in this work have been treated electronically to mimic the sounds of the sea as well as create an image of light reflecting off the surface. The work as a whole expresses the joy and the purity of the water.
Sonatine "Faire le mur"
Recording of Denis Streibig's Sonatine "Faire le mur". The material in this work was generated by a modular analog synthesizer. The aim of this piece was therefore to control the variation of two morphological criteria, through the construction of "curves".
Allting Runt Omkring
Recording of John Young's Allting Runt Omkring. This piece was inspired by the soundscape of Stockholm and sound materials from that location were used as well as from the composer's own country. All sound materials in this composition are environmental in origin.

Recording of Scipio di Agostino's 5 Interazioni cicliche alle differenze sensibili. This work consists of 5 untitled movements. This composition was written for string quartet and computer processing. The string instrumentals are not meant to sound like their traditional timbre and instead have become something that is algorithmically conceived and interactively regulated.
IceBice
Recording of Patrick Kosk's IceBice. This work is mainly based on different sound-characters from moving ice as well as sounds from an alto flute. The composer describes this work as an effort to create a "psycho-dramatical web" of tensions between something calm and vivid.
Piano Santo
Recording of Juan Carlos Figueiras' Piano Santo. This work was designed to be an interaction between piano and synthesized percussion samples. The piece explores the percussive characteristics of the piano in relation to the synthesizer as well as the more melodic themes that the synthesized orchestra is forced to adopt.
Canto di madre
Recording of Michelangelo Lupone's Canto di madre. This work was written for amplified string quartet and magnetic support. This piece is a result of the composer's research of stringed instruments. By using a virtual model of a stringed instrument, he was able to broaden the sound capabilities of the instruments and achieve his expressive objectives.
Ups-Downs-Ins-Outs vs. Popeyes
Recording of Anders Vinjar's Ups-Downs-Ins-Outs vs. Popeyes. This work is made up of a fugue (based on "Popeye the sailor man") that is taken through various manipulations. The composer says that this piece was inspired by modern society's way of handling information. The work was made with CM/CLM software on SGI-workstations.
Mezisveti
Recording of Katerina Ruzickova's Mezisveti. This work is an electronic variation to the composer's piece for solo piano. The piece is separated into six parts where the sound of an acoustic keyboard instrument always follows an electronic sound. The composer describes it as a "compromise between both extremes".
