Description: This video is composed of digitized 35 mm slides related to the North Texas State University (now UNT) media library services and functions. The slides include images of people using audiovisual equipment and materials including film and slide projectors and televisions, images related to the library's film rental and loan program including a brochure for the Gerontological Film Collection, interior and exterior images of Willis Library and Special Collections, unidentified students and library employees engaging in activities such as answering telephones and using the library card catalog, and numerous graphics and illustrations. There is no known existing sound recording or print documentation to accompany this slide presentation and therefore this video relied on the current organization of the slides. The original digital images are retained for preservation.

Description: This video is composed of digitized slides and musical accompaniment that were used to promote the North Texas State University School of Music. The slide show consists of segments that discuss the school from the perspective of the university president, an introduction to the university community, the value of the program from the perspective of the Dean of the School of Music, the Music Library and other resources, teaching faculty, performance groups available on campus, and the availability of live performances on and off campus. The slide show begins with images and a performance by the NTSU symphony orchestra as well as images of students practicing and studying. The second segment includes images of and narration by university president C.C. "Jitter" Nolan about the value and importance of the music program and the President's Award which was given to the symphony orchestra as conducted by Anshel Brusilow and the One O'Clock Lab Band under the direction of Leon Breeden. In the third segment, narrator Edward Baird discusses the student community and programs accompanied by images of students on campus, students painting, and students in the university lounge. In the fourth segment, Dean of the School of Music Marceau Meyers speaks about the expanding practice, performance, and recording spaces and the Music Library located in Willis Library and directed by Morris Martin. In the fifth segment, Baird discusses the program's teaching faculty with accompanying images of Eugene Conley, Adolfo Odnoposoff, Anshel Brusilow, Robert Ottman, William Latham, Martin Mailman, Merrill Ellis, Michael Collins, Cecil Adkins, Edward Rainbow, David McGuire, Robert Winslow, and Leon Breeden. Areas highlighted include the electronic music program, musicology, and jazz performance. The Devonian Elementary School Library: An Experiment in Quarters and Organization

Description: This silent film documents the activities of librarians, educators, and students using the library at Devonian Elementary School in Andrews, Texas. Title cards are included and are shown here parenthetically. The film begins with children entering the school building ("A School Day Begins" and "Let Us Follow These Three Pupils"). Children enter a library and classroom ("The Library Has Open Sides") and an unidentified person makes marks on a library floor plan. Students demonstrate the process of checking out books ("There is a self-charging system of circulation") with close ups of the library checkout card for "The Book of Indians." Children read and check out books and a teacher checks out a film strip and projector ("Fines and Dates Due are Eliminated"). Back in the classroom, the librarian teaches the Dewey Decimal Classification system ("An Index to the decimal classification is used in lieu of a subject catalogue") and a librarian helps children find books on horses and North American Indians. There are close-ups of a checkout card for "Mickey's Magnet" by Franklyn Branley checked out by Lynda Slover as well as checkout cards for "Maple Sugar for Windy" and "Putt-Putt Skipper" ("Titles are given an emphasis in shelving and cataloguing"). A librarian demonstrates how to search the card catalog and students are given assignments. Children in the library return, check out, and read books "("Books are marked with a color code indicating reading difficulty"). At the end of the day children leave the building ("The Last Bell Rings") and the American flag is lowered in front of the building ("A School Day Ends").

Mayor Angelo J. Rossi presents the keys to the city to the actors. Actress Glenda Farrell is appointed Mayor for the day and Actors Joe E. Brown and Warren William are named as Chief of Police and Fire Chief.
