Description: Abstract: "This report summarizes the importance of common species of salt marsh plants inhabiting wetlands of the eastern U.S. coast. An evaluation of the ecological significance of the plants is based on their rates of primary production, morality, and contribution of detritus to the estuarine dependent systems.
