Aerial Radiometric and Magnetic Reconnaissance Survey of Portions of Arizona -- New Mexico: Final Report, Volume 1. Instrumentation and Methods

Description: From introduction: Major objectives of the National Uranium Resource Evaluation (NURE) program, sponsored by the Department of Energy (DOE), are to develop an authoritative, comprehensive assessment of the nation's uranium resources and to provide industry with data and technology useful for the timely discovery and exploitation of uranium ores (ERDA, 1976). The National Aerial Radiometric Reconnaissance Survey is a major element of the NURE program.

Geology and Ore Deposits of Mesa V, Lukachukai District, Arizona

Description: From abstract: Mesa V of the Lukachukai area is capped by Morrison sediments which dip gently eastward from the mountains to the mesa tip, where the strata are tilted sharply to the opposite dip by the Lukachukai monocline. The Salt Wash of Mesa V contains ore outcrops which indicate favorable intensity of mineralization at one horizon along a 2000-foot outcrop interval. Other scatted exposures indicate the existence of ore under much of the mesa surface.

Geology of Uranium Deposits in Tertiary Lake Sediments of Southwestern Yavapai County, Arizona

Description: From purpose and scope: and primary objective was to determine the extent and grade of ore present and the future potential of the district. The second and broader objective was to learn the relationship of ore to stratigraphy and structure, in order to outline similar areas favorable for prospecting.

NURE Aerial Gamma-Ray and Magnetic Reconnaissance Survey, [California]-Arizona Area, Volume 1 - Narrative Report: Marble Canyon (NJ 12-11) Quadrangle

Description: From abstract: As part of the Department of Energy (DoE) National Uranium Resource Evaluation Program, LKB Resources, Inc. has performed a rotary-wing reconnaissance high sensitivity radiometric and magnetic survey of the Marble Canyon quadrangle NJ 12-11 located in northern Arizona. The surveyed area consisted of approximately 3,246 line miles.

NURE Aerial Gamma-Ray and Magnetic Reconnaissance Survey, [California]-Arizona Area, Volume 1 - Narrative Report: Salton Sea (NI 11-9), Phoenix (NI 12- 7), El Centro (NI 11-12), Ajo (NI 12-10), Lukeville (NH 12-1) Quadrangles

Description: From abstract "As part of the Department of Energy (DoE) National Uranium Resource Evaluation Program, LKB Resources, Inc. has performed a rotary-wing reconnaissance high sensitivity radiometric and magnetic survey, encompassing several 1:250,000 quadrangles in southwestern Arizona and southeastern California. The surveyed area consisted of approximately 9300 line miles. The radiometric data was corrected and normalized to 400 feet terrain clearance. The data was identified as to rock type by correlating the data samples with existing geologic maps. Statistics defining the mean and standard deviation of each rock type are presented as listings in Volume I of this report. The departure of the data from its corresponding mean rock type is computed in terms of standard deviation units and is presented graphically as anomaly maps in Volume II and as computer listings in microfiche form in Volume I."

Reconnaissance Examinations of Copper Uranium Deposits West of the Colorado River

Description: Several relatively small copper-uranium deposits have been found in southwestern Utah along the contact of the Shinarump and Moenkopi formations of Triassic age, at least from the San Rafael Swell area of Emery County, southward through central and eastern Garfield County, southwestward into western Kane County, and westward into the southern part of Washington County.
