Aerial Radiometric and Magnetic Reconnaissance Survey of Portions of Arizona, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, South Dakota and Washington: Final Report, Volume 1. Instrumentation and Methods

Description: From abstract: The objective of the work was to define areas showing surface indications of a generally higher uranium content where detailed exploration for uranium would most likely be successful.

Aerial Radiometric and Magnetic Survey of the Lawton National Topographic Map, NI 14-5, Texas and Oklahoma: Volume 1

Description: From objective and plan: The airborne data gathered were reduced using ground-based computer facilities to give the basic uranium, thorium and potassium equivalent gamma radiation intensities, ratios of these intensities, aircraft altitude above the earth's surface, total gamma ray and earth's magnetic field intensity, correlated as a function of geologic units indicated from available geologic maps. Results of analyses of these field data are presented as profile plots of the gamma radiation and earth's magnetic field.

Precambrian uranium-bearing quartz-pebble conglomerates: exploration model and United States resource potential

Description: From Introduction: "Uranium has been discovered in fluvial quartz-pebble conglomerates in most of the Precambrian shield areas of the world, including the Canadian, African, South America, Indian, Baltic, and Australian shields. Occurrences in these and other areas are shown in Figure 1.1. Two of these occurrences, the Huronian supergroup of Canada and the Witwatersrand deposit of South Africa contain 20-30 percent of the planet's known uranium reserves (Nininger, 1974). Thus it is critical that we understand the origin of these deposits and develop exploration models that can aid in finding new deposits."

Hydrogeochemical and Stream Sediment Reconnaissance Basic Data for Sherman NTMS Quadrangle, Texas; Oklahoma

Description: Abstract: Results of a reconnaissance geochemical survey of the Sherman Quadrangle, Texas; Oklahoma are reported. Field and laboratory data are presented for 718 groundwater and 715 stream sediment samples. Statistical and areal distributions of uranium and possible uranium related variables are displayed. A generalized geologic map of the survey area is provided, and pertinent geologic factors which may be of significance in evaluating the potential for uranium mineralization are briefly discussed.

Hydrogeochemical and Stream Sediment Reconnaissance Basic Data for Dallas NTMS Quadrangle, Texas

Description: From abstract: Results of a reconnaissance geochemical survey of the Dallas Quadrangle, Texas are reported. Field and laboratory data are presented for 284 groundwater and 545 stream sediment samples. Statistical and areal distribution plots of uranium and possible uranium-related variables are displayed. A generalized geologic map of the survey area is provided.

Salina 1° x 2° NTMS Area, Utah: Data Report (Abbreviated)

Description: From abstract: This abbreviated data report presents results of ground water and stream/surface sediment reconnaissance in the National Topographic Map Series (NTMS) Salina 10 x 20 quadrangle. Surface sediment samples were collected at 1418 sites, at a target sampling density of one site per 13 square kilometers (five square miles). Ground water samples were collected at 143 sites. Neutron activation analysis (NAA) results are given for uranium and 16 other elements in sediments, and for uranium and 9 other elements in ground water. Mass spectrometry results are given for helium in ground water. Field measurements and observations are reported for each site. Analytical data and field measurements are presented in tables and maps.

Hydrogeochemical and Stream Sediment Reconnaissance Basic Data for Lincoln NTMS Quadrangle, Nebraska; Kansas

Description: From abstract: Results of a reconnaissance geochemical survey of the Lincoln Quadrangle are reported. Field and laboratory data are presented for 577 groundwater and 754 stream sediment samples. Statistical and areal distributions of uranium and possible uranium-related variables are displayed. A generalized geologic map of the survey area is provided, and pertinent geologic factors which may be of significance in evaluating the potential for uranium mineralization are briefly discussed.
