The Solar Spectrum 2935 Å to 8770 Å : Second Revision of Rowland's Preliminary Table of Solar Spectrum Wavelengths

Description: From Abstract: "An introductory text gives a detailed description of each column of the solar ledger. Tables include counts of lines of each spectrum recorded in the identification column, leading lines in the first and second spectra, and summaries of molecules and elements present in the sun. About 73 percent of the lines are wholly or partially identified. Sixty-three elements are recorded as present."

Interim Report: Faret Experimental Program

Description: From Introduction: "The Fast Reactor Test (FARET) program is part of the United States Fast Reactor Program directed toward the demonstration of breeder reactors essential to the long-range goal of utilizing fertile fuels. (1) With-in this program is the current thinking that the early construction and operation of two or three prototype nuclear power plants of the order of 250 Mw(e) will lead eventually to the construction of practical and economic full scale breeder reactors by the early 1980's. Line Parameters and Computed Spectra for Water Vapor Bands at 2.7 mu

Description: From Foreword: "This Monograph is one of a series intended to provide fundamental information required for the estimation and interpretation of atmospheric transmittance at infrared frequencies. Part I of this Monograph presents the fundamental properties of the 2.7m water vapor band in terms of line absorptions and the integrated transmittance at any frequency for infinite resolution. Part II presents examples of the "degraded" transmittance for finite resolution, as a function of the spectral slit width, concentration, and pressure with which direct observations may be compared."

Microwave Spectral Tables: Volume 3. Polyatomic Molecules With Internal Rotation

Description: From Introduction: "This volume contains data on the microwave spectra of 94 polyatomic molecules capable of exhibiting internal rotation, based upon a search of the literature up to July, 1962, but including some information of later dates."

Ideal Gas Thermodynamic Functions and Isotope Exchange Functions for the Diatomic Hydrides, Deuterides, and Tritides

Description: From Abstract: "This Monograph contains a consistent set of tables of thermodynamic properties of a large number of diatomic hydrides, deuterides, and tritides, for the ideal gas state at one atmosphere pressure. In addition to the thermodynamic properties of the molecular gases, the tables also include thermodynamic properties for chemical reactions involving the isotopic exchange of hydrogen."

The Scattering of Thermal Radiation Into Open Underground Shelters

Description: From Introduction: "The elimination of the burn hazard in shelters depends upon a separate, systematic investigation of each suspected agent. The purpose of the present investigation was to evaluate the contribution made by radiant energy and, if such contribution proved to be significant, to suggest means of eliminating this component."

CRPL Exponential Reference Atmosphere

Description: From Introduction: "In this monograph, the background of the exponential reference atmosphere will be outlined and a set of radio ray tracings presented. These ray may be used for the solution of many problems involving refraction by means of the exponential reference atmosphere."

Experimental Transition Probabilities for Spectral Lines of Seventy Elements: Derived from the NBS Tables of Spectral-line Intensities

Description: From introduction: "The goal of the work was to provide lists of the principal lines of the elements generally observed under ordinary conditions in arc spectra, together with their relative intensities on a true scale of relative energy."

Creator: Corliss, Charles H. & Bozman, William R.

Stabilization of Free Radicals at Low Temperatures: Summary of the NBS Program

Description: From Forward: "Although the first paper in this volume describes the general aspects of the technical management of the program, it is important to emphasize that much of success and productivity of this program stemmed from the sympathetic understanding of its basic viewpoint by both the Department of Defense and the National Bureau of Standards."

A Liquid-Metal Heat-Transfer Experiment

Description: From Introduction: "The primary objective of the Boiling Liquid Metal Program in the Reactor Engineering Division at Argonne is to be obtain experimental information pertinent to the the boiling-heat transfer and fluid-flow behavior of the alkali metals, especially sodium."
Date: June 1965
Creator: Holtz, R. E.

Tables of Spectral-Line Intensities: Part 1, Arranged by Elements

Description: Abstract: "These data are presented by element in part I, and all 39,000 observed lines are given in order of wavelength in Part II." From Introduction: "In the beginning, most intensity data were reported on an arbitrary scale of 10 steps, weak lines being assigned an intensity of 1, and the strongest line intensity 10."

Summary of Available Data on the Strontium 90 Content of Foods and of Total Diets in the United States

Description: From Present Programs: "There has been a gradual expansion of the Sr^90 food analysis program to include vegetable foods and finally entire diets. In some cases the analyses have also been extended to other nuclides but these data are so limited that they will not be emphasized in this report. It is expected that considerable data on Ra^226 and other naturally occurring radionuclides will be generated in coming year."

Pictorial Studies of Molecules 1: Molecular Orbital Density Comparisons of H2, Li2, B2, C2, N2, O2, and F2

Description: From Review of Theory: " In practice, a very close approximation to the molecular orbitals can be obtained in this way. Recent calculations of this type, utilizing analysis and computer programs developed by the author, have resulted in the determination of the molecular orbitals for a large number of diatomic molecules in the form of Eq. (2). These functions, which are thought to be very close to the Hartree-Fock (i.e., the molecular orbitals demanded by theory) result, were used in the pictorial calculations presented in this report."
