Description: In order to retain the hermetic feature of the sodium flow controller, magnetic flux linkage of a permanent magnet coupling is used to transmit the torque produced by the operator through the pressure wall. 13-Watt Curium-Fueled Thermoelectric Generator for Hard Lunar Impact Mission. Final Report-Subtask 5.8

Description: Results of a conceptual design study for a curium powered thermoelectric generator of minimum size and weight which is capable of sustaining hard impact is presented. Adaptation of the Siemens Diffractometer for Precision Lattice Parameter Determinations of Single Crystals

Description: Modifications to the A.A.E.C.'s Siemens Diffractometer are described which enable precision lattice parameter determinations on single crystals. Analysis of the errors and consideration of results suggest that accuracies of about 1--2 parts in 10/sup 5/ are obtained on small beryllium oxide crystals. Details of alignment and measurement procedure are included.
