Water Quality of the French Broad River, North Carolina An Analysis of Data Collected at Marshall, 1958-77

Description: From introduction: This report presents the results of an investigation of the quality of water in the French Broad River at Marshall, N.C., that is based on data collected during the period 1958-77. Major objectives of the study were: (1) to define variations in water quality; (2) to determine the degree to which the quality of water in the river is affected by man's activities; and, (3) to identify past and present trends in the chemical quality of water in the river.

Water-Quality Characteristics of Streams in Forested and Rural Areas of North Carolina

Description: From introduction: This report presents the preliminary findings obtained from the baseline network through 1978. For North Carolina, it represents the first known attempt to determine the concentrations of major chemical and trace constituents and nutrients contributed to the State's streams by natural processes.
