Suit - Jacket and Skirt

Description: Suit of black and white wool tweed consisting of: Fitted jacket. Hip-length with fringed shawl collar. Single breasted and closes with 1 self-covered button with tailored buttonhole and 3 snaps at center front. Two angled faux flap pockets. Princess seams. Long, modified dolman sleeves with underarm gussets. Center back seam and double princess seams in back. Lined in ivory satin with embroidered "CD" on lower right in front. Designer's label at center back neckline: "Christian Dior / Boutique / Paris" Size, content, and care label below designer's label. Skirt. Knee-length with fringed hem, faced waistline and front and back darts. Center back zipper with hook & eye. Lined in ivory silk.

Suit - Jacket and Skirt

Description: Suit of red suede in a beaded Native American Indian style feather motif, consisting of: A) Jacket with V-neck line and a center front closure of three silver flower motif buttons with coral centers; edges of opening and buttonholes are laced with matching red suede. Princess seams. Three piece long sleeves with lacing on back seam. Left and right sides of front are trimmed with matching beaded appliques in feather motifs. Bottom of jacket is seamed with western style point and has 1/2" fringe at the hem. Unlined. Designer's label at center back neckline: "Gossamer Wings / by / Barbara Grimes / Santa Fe" B) Long skirt of matching red suede; lacing down center front and side seams. Waist band is 1" wide with suede lacing. Bottom section of skirt is seamed in the same western style as jacket bottom with zigzag hemline and 14" long fringe at hem. Bottom is trimmed with three beaded feather appliques on the front one applique at the center back. Center back zipper closure with covered snap on waistband. Lined in pink synthetic. Designer's label at center back to left of zipper: "Gossamer Wings / by / Barbara Grimes / Santa Fe" C) Belt of matching red suede. Belt is edged in red seed beads, turquoise and heishi shell beads, and is trimmed down the center with seven beaded applique feathers. Round buckle with U.S. 1888 Morgan silver dollar at center surrounded by coral, turquoise and heishi shell beading.

Suit - Jacket and Skirt

Description: Skirt ensemble of royal blue polyester, cut on bias, consisting of: Jacket. Waisted jacket with 3/4 length sleeves, partly cut-away in front, fastened by 3 snaps, each covered with a plastic button, in graduated sizes (smallest at top). Asymmetrical collar; notched on left, shawl on right. Inset pocket on each side with curving top edge. Cuffs have "winged" turn-backs. Sleeves sewn to create edge along top of arm from cuffs to collar. Center back seamed same as sleeves. Lined in royal blue synthetic; shoulder pads. Designer's label at center back neckline: "Thierry Mugler / Paris / Made in France" Size "42" tag at base of designer label. Evidence of removed label. Straight skirt of matching material with 2" waistband. Just below knee-length, with closure at back consisting of 3 large hooks and loops with studs at front and 8" zipper. Vented kick opening at center back seam. Unlined. Designer's label at left back hip: "Thierry Mugler / Paris / Made in France"

Sunburst Dress

Description: Black "sunburst" evening dress with bustle. The fitted, full-length sheath is of black silk satin with black velvet "sunburst" motif repeated over the dress. The gown is strapless, with diagonally draped over-panels that meet at center front and form a large bow which tilts up to cover the left shoulder. There is a zipper closure along the left sideseam with hook-and-eye closure at neckline which is concealed by the bust panel, which is snapped to the dress and bow. The back waistline seam has a three-tiered ruffled bustle which has a snap at left side to accommodate the zipper. The skirt flares from knee to hemline. There is a boned black silk inner bodice with bust pads and bust and waist stays. The inner bodice has a zipper closure at left side, just inside the outer zipper. Designer's label inside garment, stitched over right side bone: "Givenchy / Made In / France". Photograph is from the exhibition Haute Couture - The Great Paris Designers, held at The Grace Museum, Abilene Texas, October 17 - December 30, 2000, and shows the gown as displayed with a hat by Balenciaga (Accession #: 1981.022.026).

Description: Sweater suit of black and white lambswool knit. a) Sweater jacket of black and white lambswool. Black bodice with long sleeves and trim in black and white argyle pattern. Collarless with five large black leather square buttons down center front. Two front patch pockets. White lining with shoulder pads. Designer's label at center back neckline: "Yves Saint Laurent / rive gauche / Made in France / Paris" Size "34" label and cleaning instructions labels at inside left seam. b) Skirt of black lambswool knit with 7 inch band of black and white argyle border at hemline. Waist gathers into 3-1/2 inch waistband with left side zipper. Calf length. Unlined. Designer's label at center back: "Yves Saint Laurent / rive gauche / Made in France / Paris" Size "38" label and cleaning instructions labels at inside right seam.

Thank You Tree, Edgemar

Description: This decorative tree is assembled from metal shopping carts and large Christmas tree ornaments. It is about forty feet tall and is an annual tradition which began in 1996. The piece is presented in the Edgemar Complex, Santa Monica, California, courtyard during the Christmas season.

Thinking of You

Description: The sculpture depicts a crackled yellow head with blue eyes. The bottom portion of the head, including the mouth is not included in the sculptural piece. A serpentine shape in the same yellow color encircles the top of the head. Sitting atop the head like a small hat is a green cylindrical shape out of which protrudes a coil-rope funnel shape.

Tsunami

Description: The sculptural earthenware piece depicts a person's head from the nose up. The eyes are wide open and atop the head are four shapes resembling ears of corn. The colors are predominately yellows and light browns with blue eyes. The face and hair are highly textured.

Unplugged

Description: The artwork is in the shape of a plate and on it is depicted a masked man applying something to a large cactus like shape. The plate is rimmed in a textured blue. The light yellow background of the plate is covered with hieroglyphic type marks and symbols. The man's body is a heavily textured green color and his mask is orange.
