Piano Lesson

Description: The painting shows a young boy facing the viewer, looking at sheet music, and playing the piano. At the lower left of the painting is a depiction of Matisse's "Decorative Figure," a nude female figure. At the top right of the painting on the wall behind the piano is a replication of Matisse's "Woman on a High Stool" painting. On the piano are a rose-colored cloth, candle and metronome. Black scrollwork is seen on the piano stand and the grillwork of the window.

Description: Hat of ivory/ecru panne velvet, black fur, ivory lace, and a black plume. The crown is of low, crushed ivory or ecrue panne velvet, with a lower border of black fur. The wide brim had an inner wire framework covered with ivory lace, edged with the same black fur. Extending from lower edge of crown at side to off of the edge of the brim is a large black plume. Paris Subway, Ferris Wheel, and Eiffel Tower

Description: The vertical composition includes subway, Ferris wheel, and the Eiffel Tower in a Futurist style. The angular lines are drawn in charcoal and the colorful figures are at the bottom portion of the composition. The top half of the work is predominately black and white with some portions of words surrounded by blue.
