Description: The length of the silk yardage contains geometric shapes set at an angle and amongst the geometric shapes are smaller wave type shapes. The colors are dark blue to light blues and some warm yellow-browns.

Space Behind the Dark Wall

Description: The dark ground of the piece also contains square shapes that create great depth and floating on the surface appear trapezoidal pink shapes. The blue ground contains square that gradate from very dark to somewhat lighter and pink in tone. The pink shapes on the surface, floating parallel to the ground, gradate from a lighter pink to darker pink.

Voertman Awards

Description: This poster was created by an art student for the annual Voertman Award Competition and Exhibition held in 1982. The juror is listed as Ric Collier, the Director of the Corpus Christi Art Museum.

Wind

Description: The work depicts a landscape sort of space with a striated mountainous shape on the left side of the work and at the bottom of the mountain are some white ripples of water. On the right side of the work are two white shapes, resembling the sheets of floating paper, may depict snow covered mountains. Floating down through the sky are several white shapes that appear to be sheets of paper. Some very think ribbons float horizontally through the space.

Description: The artwork consists of four panels each turned on point. A grid ladder pattern turned in various directions appears in each panel. The colors are warm reddish browns and light blues. Other rectangular and triangular outlined shapes appear scattered across the panels.

Dress

Description: Dress of pale green/gray polyester chiffon with woven-in satin stripes, and printed with clusters of floral sprays in green, purples, pinks, and white. Below-knee-length, with wide, rounded neckline and flounce of same fabric as ruffle around neckline. Long sleeves with ruffle cuffs of same fabric. Skirt gathers slightly into natural waistline with sewn-in gathered elastic band with two "string" belt loops. A ruffle/flounce of same fabric is around lower part of skirt, the upper edge of which is about knee-height at left side, and curving down to right edge. Center back opening with 5 self-covered buttons-and-loops above waist, hook and eye at neckline and waist, and a single hidden snap below waist. Built-in shoulder pads. Torso lined in green rayon. Designer's label at inside left back neckline: "Hanae Mori" Care/content/size/origin label directly below designer's label: Outer layer, 100% polyester, lining 100% rayon, size 8, made in Japan, dry clean only". Retailer's label at inside right back neckline: "Neiman-Marcus" With sash belt of purple/orchid satin ribbon; 2-1/4" wide.

Elvis / Blue Boy Still Life

Description: This large, mostly black and white painting, depicts a scene of a bar fight from one of Elvis Presley's movies and a reproduction of the famous painting, Blue Boy, by Thomas Gainsborough is superimposed. In front of the painting is a wooden table holding an apple, a pear and a pitcher, not unlike a Paul Cezanne still life.

Evening Jacket

Description: Evening jacket of black silk with sequin decoration. Hip length jacket with long sleeves. High, rounded collar with two hook-and-eyes just below throat, and center front opening with 9 hidden snaps and two hook-and-eyes. Neckline, cuffs, hem, and cf opening heavily beaded/sequined in gold and copper with small Paisley forms in green and blue/gray chain stitch embroidery. Body of jacket decorated in large blocks of overlapping sequins in iridescent purple, iridescent dark green, and black sequins. Torso lined in black silk; sleeves unlined. Rosebud

Description: The sculptural wall piece consists of two copper pipe shapes in opposite facing open right angles. Bridging the space between the two right angles are four vertical flat shapes decorated with various geometric shapes and colors. Running vertically through each center panel is a black and angular S shape. Filling in the negative space of the right angles are three right angle pieces of clay woven and decorated with various colors, shapes and lines.

Smelter Shelter

Description: The artwork consists of five upright copper color poles around which twist decorated rolling pin shapes affixed to the uprights with pipes the same color as the uprights. The rolling pin shapes are covered with patterns and shapes of bright yellow, orange and black.

Description: Long multi-colored pieces are arranged on a rooftop in an urban setting. The pieces are arranged both in organic lines as well as straight lines filling the rooftop area. Some pieces partially move above the base and some appear suspended in space.

[Andromeda Fountain]

Description: Photograph of the Andromeda Fountain in the courtyard of the old town hall in Vienna, Austria. The fountain sits in the center foreground of the image. The fountain is inset into the building exterior. The bronze figure of Andromeda was created by the sculptor Georg Raphael Donner.
