Coral pink. silk chiffon evening gown. Full-length evening gown constructed of gathered coral pink chiffon with contrasting gathered orange/pink panels center front and center back. Semi-fitted bodice with high rounded neckline. The neckline is accented with an orange/pink. silk chiffon. scarf panel detail. The scarf is sewn into the neckline from right center back to just short of the left shoulder line. The scarf is asymmetrically shaped and hangs to knee-level. It can be worn hanging loose or cowled at the neck. Full-length set-in gathered sleeves of sheer coral pink chiffon. The sleeves gather into wide cuffs fastened with two covered snaps. Center back zipper closure from neck to hipline within a single hook&eye at the neckline. Natural waist seam with embroidered belt detail. The belt consists of circular medallions of rhinestones and gold bugle beads arranged in a chain motif. Full. floor-length gathered skirt. Fitted lining of coral pink crepe. The lining's skirt is slit to knee-level. Label located over inside left shoulder blade.
Ensemble - Coat and Skirt
Ensemble. Coat and matching skirt (not shown) of woven upholstery-weight fabric with stylized floral and geometric designs in burgundy and blue/black on a creme ground. Coat is mid-length, flaring slightly to hem, with long sleeves and a center-front opening. The opening, hem, and cuffs are all trimmed in a curly "lamb's wool" died burgundy to match the pattern. Fully lined in burgundy silk(?) With separate sash/belt. Labels in coat: Designer's label "Anne Klein" with lion logo; Dallas, Texas retailer's label "Marie Leavell". Not shown is skirt in matching fabric, mid-length, with no trim.

Trimmed in navy braided tape around all outer edges and at seam of bodice. Lined in white organdy with white grosgrain ribbon petersham at gathered waist. Coat of curly sheep or goat fur in shades of brown, white, and gray mixed. Standing collar, single breasted closure and pockets all of brown leather. Closure has 5 circular, brown buttons and bound buttonholes. Long set-in sleeves; midi length. Lined in brown satin(?). Cocktail dress of black heavy wool crepe. Deep V-neckline trimmed with wide bands of various sized pearls, the bands extending to waistline. Long sleeves with zipper closure at ends. Mid-length skirt is gathered into natural waistline. Hook & eye closures at along deep center back opening (top, center, lower back); which is accented with pearls as front. Zipper closure at center back below waistband. Sewn-in shoulder pads. Fully lined in black silk(?) Cocktail Hat
Cocktail or evening hat covered with blue-green-blackish iridescent coque feathers. Hat is based on a pillbox style crown, conical, with flattened top. The entire surface is covered with overlapping feathers. Rising from the center of the crown is a spray of brown horsehair and high standing feathers. Brown felt interior crown with brown grosgrain ribbon inner headband. Two combs at sides for securing hat to wearer's head. Retailer's label: "Titche's / Dallas"

Coat dress of white on pink brocade. Knee length, with short sleeves and notched collar. Double breasted, with 10 pink plastic buttons studded with rhinestones and 5 bound buttonholes. Side slit pockets. Lined in pink synthetic. Combined designer/retailer label at center back neckline: "Neiman-Marcus / Pietro" Union label at right side seam under arm.

Dress
Maxi paper bridesmaid dress of Reemay spun polyester "paper". The long dress is printed with a pattern of impressionistic flowers in greens, pink, blues and purples on a yellow ground. It has a high, rounded neckline with no collar, and opens with a zipper at center back from collar to just above waist. The long, fitted sleeves have a thin band at cuff which extends to be tied into a bow. Empire waistline, from which extend box pleats. The dress appears to have a full, floor-length skirt, but the skirt is actually divided, forming pant legs. No designer labels in garment, but original tag is preserved with it: Obverse: "'Wear-a-while'* / Fashions / with / Reemay [trademark symbol] / Du Pont's Fabulous / New 100% Spun Bonded Polyester / DuPont Reemay brings an entirely new quality to 'conven- / ience fashions'. Lined in olive green synthetic fiber fabric. Inner zipper for lining, now missing. With matching belt with brown, rectangular buckle. Brand (?) label inside: "Dimension IV"

Cocktail ensemble of orange wool with embroidered pattern of small squares of orange and silver novelty thread which form a larger abstract pattern. Ensemble consists of: A) Cocktail dress. Knee-length, sleeveless dress with rounded neckline edged with gold braid trim accented with gold studs and silver rhinestones. Bodice with princess seaming for fit. Attached belt of same fabric at natural waist edged by bands of same braid as neckline. Skirt gathers at waistline, and has side slit pockets at hips. Hem of skirt trimmed with same braid as neckline. Dress has a center back zipper, and is fully lined in orange acetate. Retailer's label at neckline to right of zipper: "Balliets / Oklahoma City, Okla." Size "6" tag at base of zipper. B) Matching fitted jacket trimmed with same braid at rounded jewel neckline, along the center front zippered opening, natural-waist hem, the cuffs of the long, set-in sleeves, and the upper edges of the two patch pockets at bust. Belted dress
Dress of black wool crepe. A-line shaped with mock. Flap pockets and cuffed long straight sleeves. Round neckline. Center front of skirt. Pockets and cuffs are trimmed in black grosgrain. Two box pleats are inserted in back of skirt and the zipper is at center back. b) Belt of same material trimmed in grosgrain.
Boots
Pair of brown suede boots. Almost knee-high, the boots are constructed as slip-on rounded-toe shoes or moccasins with added segments on the quarter to create the length of the boots. At the top, the suede of the boots is folded over outwards forming a pocket for a drawstring around top and a band of suede fringe around the outside of the boot. Indistinct trademark/logo stamped on sole. Illegible stamped mark inside boots. Referred to as "Squaw Boots", these were worn by the donor who acquired them in 1968 from the Fishing Bridge Store, in Yellowstone National Park.
"Le Canned Dress"
Le Canned Dress A) Dress of nylon knit printed with purple, pink and orange triangles arranged in vertical stripes; raised band collar with two buttons covered in self fabric at center back; long sleeves gathered into cuff; straight silhouette with gathers at dropped waist; street length; lapped zipper closure at center back. Designer, retail and size labels at center back. B) Can of bright colored geometric print. Label: "Le/ Canned/ Dress/ The world's freshest dress,/ a Wippette delicacy in French Epicurean prints./ Net contents: 4 1/2 whole ounces/ Ingredients: Pure Joyce-Lon textured nylon/ that can be canned but can not wrinkle./ Hand packed and canned by/ Wippette.
